What’s Your Philhealth Identification Number (PIN)?

It’s been so long. It took me five years to know my Philhealth Identification Number. While working I wasn’t keen to find out if what is written in my payslip reflects the contribution. Fortunately, my first employer enrolled me as a member of Philhealth.

How to Know Your PIN

Based on my experience, the best way to know your PIN is to go to the Philhealth office and verify your membership like what my sister and I did. We went to the Philhealth office in Marc Bldg. near the LRT Quirino Station. If you prefer to commute by LRT or you’re near the area, I recommend this office not only because of accessibility but also of the efficient, fast service.

Be an early bird. The office opens at 8:00 am; though we arrived earlier, we lined up at the ground floor along with the early comers. Our first stop is the information area; the staff guided us where to go. This alone is a plus factor. I hope all government establishments will have information section so confusion and wasting of time will be avoided. She did a great job: advising and checking the requirements, answering all the queries, and handing the appropriate form. Because there weren’t much people yet, I was able to sit while waiting for my turn. I filled out a piece of paper which I later gave to the staff in the ID section. And upon confirming some facts, my name was printed on a card—known as the Philhealth Identification Card. How much does it cost? Free! But it’s your responsibility to sign, to post the picture and to have it laminated.

How to Become a Member of Philhealth

Before applying for a membership, I suggest you should visit first the website of Philhealth. There you can determine the member category you belong and download the Philhealth Member Registration Form. Instructions and requirements are specified at the back. This is what my sister did. The information staff gave her a form (which she didn’t use because she already had one from the site) and a number, so she just sat comfortably while waiting.

Afterwards, she paid the quarterly premium (January-March) and showed the receipt to the staff she first dealt with—after more than an hour—she also had her Philhealth Identification Card. See it really pays to wake up early. Don’t wait too long before you get your Philhealth ID. You’ll never know when it might come in handy to you or to your dependent.

Good luck with your Philhealth ID. Make sure to be there as early as possible so you'll be done in less than half an hour. And if you have no time maybe you can ask a relative to do it for you. (I was able to also get my brother's ID--his quite lucky--or perhaps, the staff is just too kind.)

@ Katrina

I don't think it's necessary. I found one in Cainta, Rizal.

Location: The Brick Road Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall, Marcos Highway cor. Felix Ave., Cainta, Rizal

For more information you can go to this link (http://www.philhealth.gov.ph/about_us/directory/ncr/central.htm) or you can search more Philhealth offices by clicking the links on its left-side bar.

May this info be of great help to you in getting your Philhealth ID so you can benefit from what you're paying.
